A style quickly growing on most, the Air Jordan 2010 sees a new colorway in a classic Chicago Bulls white/red/black. The kicks feature insoles marked with the “W3lcome Home” phrase which seems to be referring to Dwayne Wade’s connection to his hometown of Chicago. Although Wade is now with the Heat, this Summer represents one of the biggest free agent periods of all-time and it could surely see D-Wade coming home to the Windy City. For those feeling the style and banking on Wade’s return, the kicks are now available at Marqueesole in a limited size run.

Spike Lee is probably best known by the current generation of hip hop fans as the little dude that sits courtside at the Knicks games. But, at the time of Do The Right Thing’s release, there wasn’t a bigger director in the world. The message the movie conveyed along with the film’s main song Fight the Power hitting the world like a ton of bricks AND his Mars Blackman commercials, helped catapult Spike into another stratosphere. This video clip here is actually 3 different segments merged together. Fab 5 takes the lead again here, breaking a little PE news as well as getting Spike’s feelings on the 2 Live Crew’s Free Speech court battle.

The CM1001 has undergone a “Tropical Cocktail” treatment for New Balance’s 2010 Spring lineup. As with the recently seen “Hawaii” H574s, these two models include some relatively bright colorways, balanced out by gray suede. It’s also worth noting that the CM1001 features a tooling originally seen on the trail runner 575 model.
I usually don't post mixes from other sites but this one I had to do. Thanks to the site, only built for z share links. I found this DJ JAZZY JEFF live on Future Flavors radio rip. From the very moment I heard "Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble",I knew Jeff was a problem. To this date Jeff is still one of the best dj's EVER. All respect do my man, glad I found this mix!
Its ironic that I have a site dedicated to mixtapes and don't post any of my own. Well in 2010 all of that is going to change. Up first is a single from my upcoming mixtape with me and Dj Trauma called "Late Night Flights". The single is entitled "Let the Bass Kick",produced by Dj Chuckie(@djchuckie)featuring Jermaine Dupri(@ltlline)and me(@djmars404). The record is a definite smash,dj's don't play yerself...PLAY THE DAMN RECORD! Below is the clean and dirty edit of the track!
In addition to mixtapes I will help bring new life to the Atlanta night life. First off is Soul II Soul, each and every thursday night@Door 44. Soul II Soul is a music lover's dream. Me and Dj Gazzel dig deep in the crates. Doors open@10pm,come drink and celebrate great music by two great dj's.

Help spread the word. Clark Kent donated 200 pairs, and Mayor himself has donated around 50 or so. There are two ways you can help.
1) Text “SHOES” to 20222 to donate $5 to Soles4Souls.
2) Send any new or gently worn shoes to:

Hip-Hop’s Gus Hayes is back again with the latest installment of his confessions series. DJ Jazzy Jeff and Kwame are the guests this go around and Jeff’s confession in pretty enlightening. I’m halfway ready to call BS on Kwame’s, but his story about “Unbelievable” is pretty funny.

Ski Beatz is a producer who's worked with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop, including Jay Z, Mos Def, AZ, Foxy Brown, Lil' Kim and Camp Lo.
He showed us how he makes a track, and we were impressed and surprised by how he does it. He has an unusual technique for beatmaking which is extremely fast and fluid. Watch the movie to see him in action.
For anyone who can't watch the movie, or if you're having trouble following what he's doing, here's how he does it:
Ski Beatz uses Warp Markers as slicing point markers. He listens to a song he's going to sample, with only the first Warp Marker in place.
When he hears parts he wants to use, he creates a Warp Marker. Generally, he adds about 10-15 Warp Markers to a song, totally unrelated to Live's tempo—the metronome is off at this point.
Once he's done adding the Warp Markers, he right-clicks on the audio file and selects the "Slice to MIDI Track" command.
Then he chooses the Warp Marker setting, and his custom slicing preset, you can download this here.
Ski now has all the points he wants to trigger chromatically laid out on his keyboard. He plays his samples, and while he's playing with one hand, he hits the "Tap Tempo" button on the APC40 to set the tempo.
Finally, he turns on the metronome and triggers an empty clip slot to record into.
Ski Beatz has even given us his slicing preset to give to you.

Shomi Patwary of Illusive Media helmed the official video for Freedom – the opening track to the Clipse’ Til The Casket Drops. Arguably one of the best cuts off the album we witness the Hip Hop duo from a reflective perspective as they pay tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., The Notorious B.I.G and the group’s manager who recently has been sentenced to 32 years in prison. Displayed in black white cinematography the visual fits well with the introspective bars by Pusha T and Malice. Til The Casket Drops available now.

DJ Dyllemma & (DJ Sav One) put together over 65 tracks from some of your favorite MCs, who were either on the come-up or established MCs still putting out quality hip-hop in ‘09. For the people who feel like there weren’t enough solid releases last year (some may obviously disagree), this mix should fill in the gaps for some of the tracks you may have overlooked. If you’ve visited this site, TheUnderGroundComeUp, or checked out their previous mixtape, “Future Classics & Past Rarities,” you know the types of artists that we support & that these mixes are meant to sound real live, so expect scratching, cutting & a “live from the basement” feel throughout.

Here we see a New Balance preview from the Bright Tradeshow. Referred to as the “Pub Pack”, New Balance takes on the classic 576 model and makes three limited edition colorways, dubbed The Kings Head, the Red Lion, and the Royal Oak. Each pays tribute to the time-honored tradition of whole-heartedly enjoying life. For over 20 years this Flimby favorite has been “brewed” in England, using the finest “ingredients” and “brewing techniques.” All three are clearly influenced by the interior design of pubs with an inner lining inspired by barstool covers while the Red Lion version actually features original pub couch leather. Look for these at select New Balance retailers. Info courtesy of www.hypebeast.com

As the 2010 NBA All-Star weekend nears (Feb. 12-14), Nike continues its longstanding tradition with a special set of colorways for the celebrated All-Star game. Taking on the usual patriotic color makeup, the kicks are offered in a medley of red, white, and blues with a hint of black, grey, and metallic finishes. Three low tops will be releasing along with a hi-top, all featuring a commemorative logo with the state of Texas, which will be hosting the game in Dallas at the new Cowboy Stadium. A release for the kicks through Kinetics is slated for January 30th.
Haiti faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. Over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince faced this catastrophe alone and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. Many people across the country have already started to contribute to the Haiti Relief Effort and Play Cloths must do its part as well. Sometimes it is very confusing when donating do to the high level of corruption within certain charities but in this instance Play Cloths feels that Wyclef Jean is a man they can trust.
So starting today, Friday January 15th @ 3pm EST, Play Cloths will release a signature Jack logo t-shirt designed for the Haiti Relief Effort. 100% OF THE PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED to the YELE HAITI EARTHQUAKE FUND, which is an organization supported by Wyclef Jean. In order to send the donation as fast as they can, the Haitian Jack t-shirt will only be on sale from Friday January 15th to Friday January 22nd (one week only). Info courtesy of www.hypebeast.com
A schittload of old school tapes have flooded the internets since I first started dropping my Hip Hop Lessons for the holidays a few years back, so I wasn't so sure that there was still a need for me to continue with it. But, as always, the people have spoken and informed me that the world is still in need of an education on the true meaning of Hip Hop. So here we go again-
COLD CRUSH BROTHERS vs. DOCTOR ROCK & THE FORCE MC'S - One of the great battle tapes from Hip Hop's early days, a battle that was really more like a sucker punch TKO. The CC4 had no idea that a battle was even taking place, so they did their normal show then bounced to go make another engagement later that night. After the Cold Crush was gone from the premises, the Force MC's took the stage and proceeded to go at them with an unprecedented level of sheer disrespect, even beyond Kool Moe Dee vs. Busy Bee preportions. As legend has it, when the Cold Crush later got wind of what had gone down, they made a point of stepping to the Force HARD the next time their paths crossed- made them apologize and seriously warned them to never pull a stunt like that again. What surprised me when I read about this battle was that the Force MC's really were not all that respected among the top groups of the day... I know they were from Staten Island, which at that time I guess was like being from Martha's Vinyard as far as the hardcore Bronx dudes were concerned. But I'd heard so many tapes where the Force was rocking at shows with all the other groups and were killing it with the harmonies and routines, I just assumed that everybody respected them as being among the elite. Regardless, they most definitely made their mark in the streets with this battle- if you don't already have it you certainly need it. Info courtesy of www.thatrealschitt.com

NewBalanceLive recently held an interview with German lifestyle brand manager Till Jagla, who spoke of the upcoming designs for New Balance Europe’s Fall/Winter lineup. Several classics make a return with an introduction into a variety of new designs. Below is a more detailed account into the upcoming collection.
Obviously we still have the “Made in UK” story. Made in UK or better “Domestic Manufacturing” is getting more and more important for us and the consumers. “Made in UK” stands for quality! Probably the most expecting NB style is the original 1500! Beside that iconic we will have 4 colourways of the 577, 3 colourways of the 1300, 4 colourways of the 670 and 4 colourways of the 576.
Beside the “Made in UK” Story we will introduce a new 574 – the SONIC. The sonic is a futuristic take on our signature classics. Environmentally friendly, beautifully executed, and deconstructed in design, this new collection takes the iconic 574 and the classic 410. We´ve reengineered the shoes through a Sonic process of applying heat and pressure to form airtight and water sealed seams. The result is a lighter shoe, simplified with minimalist design. No doubt about it – we´ll maintain the “Global SMU Project” – Beside that we are going to release a very selective “Pub Pack”. The “Pub Pack” is a limited Edition based on the 576 and includes 3 colourways – The Kings Head, the Red Lion and the Royal Oak! The paying tribute to the time honoured tradition of whole heartedly enjoying life. For over 20 years this Flimby favourite has been “brewed” in England using the finest “ingredients” and “brewing techniques”.
My favourite (shoe) is without a doubt the RC205. It´s a 90´s running shoe worn by Khalid Khannouchi and the Kenyan Team. The shoe number 205 is based on Khalid´s world record time 2:05. Due to the Maasai tribal on the heel the shoe brings a unique aesthetic to its functional design. Info courtesy of www.hypebeast.com
Marc Jacobs pays tribute to mixtapes of yesteryear with a selection of cleverly disguised USB hubs. Each “mixtape” features crudely drawn artwork and includes three USB ports. Info courtesy of www.hypebeast.com
