Whatup yall,yer favorite classic mixtape supplier is back in the building(www.historyofmixtapes.com). This weekend I am transmitting live from Charlotte,North Carlolina. I am out here for the C.I.A.A. Tournament. This is one of my favorite annual events! My Atl crew is always up here real deep. As always,I bless your ipod's with nothing but classic material. Over the last few weeks I have been splashing on sucker celebrity dj's. To combat how wack they are I dug in the crates and pulled out some heat from the legends(Kid Capri,Clark Kent). I am starting this year off w/an assault on wack "celebrity dj's". Out of respect for what this former rapper has done for the hip hop community,I won't mention his name but son should not be dj'ing.
I was at a superbowl related event a couple of weeks ago in miami and homeboy was dj'ing. I think I was the most upset at what I heard,than any other time I've heard a so called celebrity dj. Dude is a hip hop icon,one of the members of yer favorite groups of all times,therefore ill respect that and won't mention his name. Leave the dj'ing to dj's who really smash the party. We will respect you and play yer classics,just leave the dj'ing to us!
Well off of that,and on to the real. Everytime I blast a wack dj,I'm going to promote a real dj. This one just happens to be my mentor and big brother...SUPER DJ CLARK KENT! In addition to that he will be spinning this weekend(feb 19th@I LOVE NEW YORK PT. 3).

The acclaimed producer now offers an extensive trailer for his upcoming opus as a compensation. THE DAY OF DILLA
Celebrating the life of the late James Yancey, better known to most as J Dilla, Stussy created a special documentary on the life of the brilliant Hip-Hop producer and MC. Along with the celebrations, Stussy also looks to launch a commemorative tee, produced in conjunction with Stones Throw Records and the Dilla Estate. Ladies and gentleman there's a disturbing trend within the dj community. The emergence of the so called "celebrity dj". These dj's come in several different forms. The different forms makes it difficult to actually decifer who the good dj's really are. The wack celebrity dj gets high exposure in the fancy pants magazines,while the real dj may not. The fake celebrity dj started dj'ing only after Serato was invented. The real dj has been rocking parties since the days of carrying milk crates. The fake dj gets on because of who they screwed,sniffed coke with,etc. The real dj gets on because he or she is actually good.
Trust me,I'm not bitter by no means. One thing is though,I do take my job seriously. Its corny to me that now that its extremely convenient to become a dj,everyone wants to dj. Come on son,Solange is dj'ing now...how corny is that. I'm not saying singers can't have hobbies but SOLANGE THAT'S SHIT'S WEAK!

The upcoming full-length documentary A Walk Through Fort Greene discusses the massive Black arts movement that began back in the mid 1980s all the way through the 1990s. The story is narrated by director Nelson George as he takes a look into the catalyst for the movement as well as its development and unfolding. Some influential entertainers make appearances including Spike Lee, Chris Rock, Rosie Perez, Vernon Reid, Carl Hancock Rux, Saul Williams, Lorna Simpson, Alva Rogers, Kevin Powell, and Bill Stephany among others.
