Dj Craig G 80's Classic R&B

What's good party people,www.historyofmixtapes.com is back in the building. First of all let me say that the recent string of deaths has shaken me up a little bit. Kennedy,Jackson,AM,Swayzie, and now ROC RAIDA...wow God's plan is serious for all of us ya'll. God bless each and everyone of them as well as there spirits and families.

Now for the mixtape side of things, let's take the express train all the way Uptown to Harlem. I've seen this kid reinvent himself so many times. Around the first time I met him he was working at Beat Street records in Brooklyn, then he was doing dope remixes, then I come to find out he's killing the clubs and radio in Connecticut. On top of all of that the brother lives around the corner from my peoples. Today we are going to hop on the elevator and get off at the "TOP FLOOR BABY",aand rock with my man DJ CRAIG G!

Here's a dude that's been smashing the mixtape game from day one and is stil relavant. Here's a dude that can rock parties on any coast. Here's a dude that can get yer record poppin in the streets of New York,Connecticut, and Massachussetts. Now that's power for real.

One of the all time greats,Craig G is about to take you guys back. Rock with us as we bounce to some 80's flavored r&b...strictly Uptown Style. As I always say, download now and thank me later!

JIGGO MAN ON OPRAH!

Taking inspiration from the Atlanta Braves, whom won the National League the same year as Jordan’s first championship, Oregon resident Jordan Dark becomes the latest participant in the Doernbecher Campaign, inserting his own design philosophy into a sneaker. Pairing those aforementioned details, Jordan re-created one of the more popular Air Jordan designs, adding a Navy suede upper paired with Red and Gold accents alongside baseball stitch details and a number 1 embroidered on the heel.

THE GREEN MONSTER IS COMING...!

“The Evil Genius” DJ Green Lantern, and Styles P “The Ghost” have joined forces to create a monster – “The Green Ghost Project” – and on Nov 17th the world will say “It’s Alive!!!”

“The Green Ghost Project”, a joint album filled with original production from DJ Green Lantern, AlchemistScram Jones,Statik Selektah, etc., can be seen as the next natural step for the two mixtape veterans who constantly look to push the boundaries of how Hip Hop is given to the fans. “Styles and I got together and made a monster”, says Green of the project, which is being distributed through Invasion/The Orchard.

“Don’t call me ‘The Ghost’ right now, call me ‘The Green Ghost’”, remarks Styles P about the album’s sinister undertone. “It’s a different display of talent. We got together and brainstormed about it and it came out crazy!”

DJ Green Lantern and Styles also added some potent ingredients to the mix in the form of guest appearances from Jadakiss,Sheek LouchM.O.PN.O.R.EUncle MurdaJunior Reid, and more, taking “The Green Ghost Project” to truly “monstrous” proportions.

Bad Boy & DJ Clue Mixtape

What's good ya'll,I'm back on my mixtape grizzly. I just dug into my personal stash of tapes and I'm preparing them for your downloading pleasure. As we near that moment, let's take a trip into the history books for a minute.

Todays mixtape blast comes from Dj Clue and Bad Boy Ent. Remember back in the 90's when Bad Boy dropped there own mixtapes, remember when the Question Mark Man had ya benzi box in a frenzy. Well let's take a second to think back.

Part of what made Puffy so dope is his ability to see what other execs didn't. He wasn't the first exec to listen to tapes but he was one of the few who totally embraced the movement. As an effort to break his artists Puff got with the hottest dj's(DOO WOP,STRETCH ARMSTRONG,S&S,& CLUE),and used there street credibility to create street cred for his artists.

I can't front,I never take a tape from another site but this one was too good to pass up. Props to the smoking section.com,that's where I got the tape from. Again yall, download now and thank me later!

NEW BALANCE VS. LOUIE V

Boston based shoe company New Balance is in a heated court battle with luxury clothing line
Vuitton, accusing the luxury goods company of copying its best-selling casual sneaker. New Balance claims Louis Vuitton’s Minstrel shoe is virtually identical to its 574 sneaker introduced in the mid-1990s.
LV needed a nice lawsuit for this fuckery anyways because…
1. LV’s sneaker retails for $590, while you can score a pair of 574’s for less than $60 @ Shoe Carnival, as its one NB’s lower-priced but best selling models (20 million-plus pairs sold since 2002). I’ve owned a couple of pairs of LV’s and the leather is always beautiful. Yet there’s no way I’d pay that exorbitant amount for anything less than the finest Italian cow ass.
2. The shoe’s name is “The Minstrel.” There’s virtually no way that word can ever be evoked without a negative connotation. But looking closer, even its name is almost a “catch us if you can” swipe @ NB.
3. Turnaround is fair play. LV has been aggressive about disassociating itself with people bootlegging their goods (See: Diddy & Rick Ross). If a company is going to attack others for copyright infringement, that same company should not engage in the act themselves.
4. By tradition, New Balance is an American-based & made company. I root for the home team.
The zinger of this whole situation is that New Balance adopts a snooty attitude that usually might be reserved for LV by stating, “Indeed, it is possible that had New Balance authorized Louis Vuitton to design a special Louis Vuitton edition of the iconic New Balance 574 shoe, the Minstrel might have been a highly successful collaboration,” the suit says.”
Whamp whamp! Score one in New Balance’s PR department. Info courtesy of the smoking section.com

THINGS I LIKE ON MY FEET::THE NEW BALANCE EDITION

09/09/09 marks the release date of the NB 999 Feral Collection. The new collection stems from New Balance’s goal to reinvent the brand’s lifestyle footwear range from all-time classic favourites to modern silhouettes. Celebrating heritage, craftsmanship, innovation and imagination, New Balance Lifestyle fuses classic designs from the past with bold ideas from the future.

Part of the classic 99X series of running shoes that dates back to the early 80s, the 999 model was originally released in 1996 and was New Balance’s most technologically advanced shoe at the time. For the 99X series celebrations running throughout 2009, the company has worked with key retailers Leftfoot (Singapore) and Mita Sneakers (Japan) to reintroduce this iconic New Balance model back into the market.

The NB Feral Creation Collection is an Asian Inspired collection for global release. The project first started back in 2007 with the NB 574 “Hungry Dragon”, whilst last year saw the project present the NB 576 “China Mask”. This year‟s edition stays true to the theme of Asia-inspired lifestyles and culture by drawing on various animals that have left their mark on our urban jungles.

The collection is divided into two sets, one from each retailer, consisting of an exclusive pair that is numbered and limited to 660 units worldwide, as well as general release version that will be more widely available. Each exclusive edition is interconnected with the underlying theme of the colour “grey”, which is the original colour of the 999 and 99X series as well as New Balance’s heritage colour. JAY Z VS. EVERYONE ELSE

You can argue all day about Hov not sounding like the old Hov. You can say that he's changed, hell i even said it. one thing i do know is that his corporate game is stupid, his catelogue is tremendous, and he he is what all smart rappers should aspire to be like. I congratulate Hov on all his business moves...oh yeah, heres another one to be proud of!

We have some classic reposts, first up to bat is the Bald Head Assasin...the Dark Skin King...Uptown's #1...the Mighty S&S. One of my favorite dj's in the game period. Since we are celebrating New York City this weekend its only right to take the A train all the way uptown for this one.

In addition to the S&S mixtape,we are going to cross the Williamsburg Bridge and head to Brooklyn. Last week I posted a full copy of a Jay Z performance in Chicago. Most of you all didn't get it,so for you slow folks...here's the Jay Z live in concert post. I'm tellin yall,I love New York and so should you!

And now for this friday nights super event. For years,The Heavenly Renaissance crew has been on the forefront of the most musically progressive parties in Atlanta. Being that our team is comprised of dj's,label exec's,creative directors, and marketing directors. We constently attempt to come up with fresh new ideas. Sometimes good ideas have to be remixed, and remix we shall.

I LOVE NEW YORK PT. 2

THE PARTY SO NICE WE HAD TO DO IT TWICE

A TRIBUTE TO THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS BUT ALWAYS PARTIES!

Musically New York crosses all boundaries. The birthplace of Hip Hop,the home of house music, and the local home of reggae music. What's not to love about the New York music scene. Some of the most influential Dj's on the planet come from there...and friday sept. 4th we are going to pay tribute to all of that.

In classic Heaven style, yours truly Dj Mars will be on the wheels of steel along side my brother Dj Doc. But this time we brought along our homie...Dj Highlanda(BROOKLYN USA). Yes,yes yall the vip sky room will sound like the West Indian Day Parade on Eastern Parkway...Nuff tunes,Nuff said!
