This is one of those interviews that we always talked about at themeaningofdope like a mythical creature or an old friend we hadn’t seen in years. We knew it existed, but had no idea when or how we would see it again. BAM! Here it is.
The infamous Raekwon in front of the ad for his album interview, finally. This is part 1 of 5 and Rae is basically breaking down why each clan member had their own style and they never expected or asked anyone to change to fit the group dynamic.
Was anyone fucking with Rae and Ghost in terms of gear at this point? Those dudes always had the crispy ‘Lo pieces in mad colours, the Snow Beach is obviously what everyone remembers but Rae is not exactly slacking right here. An early look into New Balance’s 577 offerings for 2010 Spring/Summer have surfaced. The 20-year old running shoe maintains a slightly slimmer profile than other shoes of the era with a nice color-block scheme that features white, khaki and a contrasting color. The use of the contrasting color on the upper is met with a texturized finish while a white midsole with another color hit finishes things off. This batch of New Balance 577’s will hit retailers in March of 2010.

Well there's two major movements on deck here. First off is the Heaven 5 year anniversary party at The Mark,and secondly is this weeks mixtape movement.
Thursday November 26th marks the 5 year anniversary of the party we call Heaven. Yup,Thanksgiving night in Atlanta we are taking things back to the club we helped make famous(THE MARK). Remember the last time we reopened a club(Compound)4,000 people decided to party with us. Trust us,this is just a small warning. And now for the mixtape side of things. There's a reason that the rapper TIP called his movement Grand Hustle,that's simply because they move on a scale larger than most. For instance that grey period between Arista and Atlantic,Tip didn't just sit back...he fed the streets. He didn't wait for a dj to ask him to make a street album,he did one himself. As one retailer told me,"those tapes sold like crack...and Tip along with Jason Geter would deliver them by hand to us". The Tip and P.S.C. mixtapes were serious.
